Lake Arenal: Body Found After Aquatic Accident

THE CAUSE OF THE BOAT'S SINKING IS STILL UNCLEAR.
THIS SATURDAY, MARCH 30, 26 AQUATIC ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN ATTENDED DURING HOLY WEEK.

A boat with three people sank on the morning of Friday, March 29, in Lake Arenal, specifically in the Río Piedras area.
The Costa Rican Red Cross (CRC) received the alert through the 9-1-1 emergency system, one of the individuals managed to get out of the water on their own.
This morning, Gabriela Jiménez, operation commander, confirmed that the body of another affected individual was found.
During this Saturday, March 30, the search continues for the missing person. In the area, 25 members of the Red Cross and five units remain.
It is still unclear what could have caused the sinking of the boat, nor have the identities of those affected been disclosed.
The institution reported, at 9:00 a.m. this Saturday, that it has attended to 26 aquatic accidents so far during Holy Week.
